Soon the implementation phase of “On Mission” will be upon us. I am grateful to Father Donahue, Father Murhammer, and Father Poecking for what they have accomplished in making three vibrant faith communities as well as their successful efforts to prepare you for the coming changes. Transition is going to be difficult for all of us. As we priests “pack our bags” and move to new assignments, your prayers and kind support will be both welcomed and greatly appreciated.
This letter accompanies the announcement of the interim Mass schedule for our grouping. The new weekday schedule is effective Monday, October 15, 2018, and the weekend schedule begins with the anticipated Masses on Saturday, October 20, 2018. It is very important to remember that this schedule is interim. It will be evaluated and adjusted as necessary with your feedback on how well it suits the pastoral needs of our grouping.
Keeping in mind that the “On Mission” process calls us in part to envision a new “parish” entity within the next three years, the schedule was composed to encourage you to visit and worship in the three sites that we call “210”. Please don’t view the schedule as taking away from you a comfortable Mass time, but as one that now affords you nine options for convenience in attending Mass on the weekends in what will become new parish boundaries. The interim schedule was developed with valuable input from the outgoing pastors. The schedule accommodates, as best as possible, the number of priests assigned to our grouping, the seating capacity of the churches, parking availability, accessibility, Sunday religious education schedules, and geography and travel time between buildings.
Father Alek Schrenk and Father John Walsh join me in requesting your prayers as we look forward to meeting you and walking with you as we revere the past and look ahead to the future. May God continue to guide us always and in all ways.
Sincerely in Christ,
Reverend Robert Grecco
